Overview of EN 17460 standard

The EN 17460 standard - "Adhesive manufacturing of rail vehicles and their components" is an upgraded version of the DIN 6701 series of standards. By September 2025, it will ultimately replace the DIN 6701 standard. These two standards share a common goal: to create a quality management system that maximizes efficiency in improving adhesive quality and reducing risks. Although DIN 6701 standard originated in Germany, after more than a decade of development, it gradually evolved from a mandatory standard in Germany to a universal standard in the international rail transit industry. As of the end of 2023, there are over 1000 companies worldwide that have obtained DIN6701 certification, of which 38% are local German companies and 62% are companies outside of Germany.
