Changes in Training Qualification Standards in EN17460

According to the requirements of the Fraunhofer IFAM (Fraunhofer Institute for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technology) in Germany to upgrade and promote the new standard EN17460 for DIN6701 certified units, the adhesive manufacturing certification of EN17460 rail vehicles and their components has been officially implemented, with a three-year transition period in the future. During the transition period, EN17460 and DIN6701 series standards can coexist, but DIN6701 series standards will become invalid after the transition is over.

According to the EN17460 standard, personnel involved in bonding work are classified into three levels based on their technical abilities, knowledge, and experience: Level 1 has comprehensive technical capabilities - European Adhesive Engineer (EAE);

Level 2 with comprehensive technical capabilities - European Adhesive Technician (EAS);

Level 3 has basic technical skills - European Operator Technician/European Adhesive Operator/European Adhesive Operator (EAB).

The training basis for EAE has been changed from DVS-EWF3309 and EWF517 to EWF662; EAS training has also been changed from DVS-EWF3301 and EWF516 to EWF662; EAB has changed from DVS 3305 and EWF515 to EWF 515.
