Changes in Training Qualification Standards for EN17460 Adhesive System Certification Training

According to the latest requirements of Fraunhofer IFAM in Germany, the adhesive manufacturing certification for EN17460 rail vehicles and their components has been officially implemented, with a transition period of the next three years. During this period, the EN17460 and DIN6701 series standards will exist in parallel, but after the transition ends, the DIN6701 series standards will lose their effectiveness. This change is of great significance to the rail transit industry, not only related to the improvement of product bonding quality, but also involving the strengthening of risk management.

According to the EN17460 standard, personnel involved in bonding work are divided into three levels based on their skill level: Level 1 is Comprehensive Technical Ability - European Adhesive Engineer (EAE); Level 2: Comprehensive Technical Capability - European Adhesive Technician (EAS); Level 3 is the basic technical ability - European Operations Technician/European Adhesive Operator/European Adhesive Operator (EAB). This classification makes bonding work more refined and specialized.

At the same time, training requirements have also been updated. The training basis for EAE and EAS has been changed from DVS-EWF3309, EWF517, and DVS-EWF3301, EWF516 to EWF662. The training basis for EAB has been changed from DVS 3305 and EWF515 to EWF 515. These changes reflect the continuous advancement of bonding technology and the updating of industry standards.
